Schedule: Thksgvng Wknd, Poulsbo Art Walk
Our next official open day is the Thanksgiving Day weekend 23,24,25-Nov.  This is a Winery Alliance of Bainbridge Island event with all wineries open both days that weekend plus Friday.  We'll be open 11am 'til 5pm, the other wineries open at noon.  (Note that this will be the last WABI weekend of the year with all the wineries open at the same time.)  Special notes for this weekend:
  -  We'll be barrel tasting (well, actually tank tasting) our new Syrah red wine.
  -  This will be a very rare event - we'll be pouring Magelica.
  -  We'll be debuting our 2011 Viognier and 2011 Madeleine Angevine
  -  We'll also have chocolate from Yukon Jacksons made with our Frambelle wine!
  -  And Keith Jackson, the chocolate maker of Yukon Jackson's will be serving his products on Friday!

We will be pouring PV wines for the Poulsbo Art Walk at Bluewater Artworks Gallery and Framing on Front St. 08-Dec 5pm-8pm.  If you've visited the PV tasting room and seen the original label artworks, they're by Dianne Gardner who is close friends with Bluewater, and often has work showing there.  Bluewater has also done framing of some of those pieces, and the owners have helped out at PV bottling and the like -- please consider them if you need framing done.  We're honored that they've invited us to pour our wines there.

Although Thanksgiving is the last WABI weekend of the year, we hope to be open at PV every weekend in December before Christmas.  We'll have Frambelle available for your holiday gift giving, and local wines, red and white for your festivities.

Farmers Markets: Bainbridge goes indoors
Starting this weekend, we're at the weekly Bainbridge Island Farmers Market, through the Winter season.  The market is indoors so don't let a little cold/wind/rain stop you.  There will be dozens of local vendors with unique items making for thoughtful gifts.  For example, stop in and get a nicely boxed Frambelle as a superb gift for your host at a Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas party.  And we'll have the Frambelle chocolate truffles, a great gift for your sweety!

Vineyard: Tidying up, establish new block
It's (finally) the quiet time in the vineyard.  At this point, we have to avoid tromping around in the vineyard in order for the cover crop I sowed to get a chance to establish.  We use overwintering rye to help fix nitrogen and to prevent rainfall erosion.  So instead we concentrate on the periphery, clearing blackberry vines out of the fence, repairing the fence, etc.

Our next big project will be to expand the vineyard block above the driveway.  If you've been by the winery in the past year, you've seen the clearing permit fading on the fence.  The goal is to do this work very soon, so keep your eye on the hillside as you go by.  There will be plenty of work to do starting with clearing, then next Spring, planting, putting in posts and wires, etc., so please consider joining our helpers email list so you can find out when we'll be doing things, we could really use your help!
