Extra October newsletter
We already had an early October newsletter, but there's just more to say!

Events -- movie, pumpkin harvest
Reminder that "Good Food" will be showing this weekend, Oct. 18th and 19th the Lynwood Theater on Bainbridge.  It showcases several local farms and discusses the importance of sustainable and organic agriculture.  It will be followed by a special local dinner at the TreeHouse cafe.  Hope to see you there!

Also don't forget to your halloween pumpkin at the Suyematsu farm this year...  There's hay bale and corn mazes, plus hayrides and plenty of other late season veggies for sale.

BI Farmers Market season extended
Due to the very late Spring, many of the vegetable vendors are still harvesting!  For this reason, the Bainbridge Farmers Market season will be extended by one week.  Unfortunately, PV has already committed to another event at this time, so will not be there.  However, we will be back at the indoor Market in November.

Strawberry Dessert wine
We're hoping to have our new strawberry dessert wine released in time for the holidays.  We've decided on the theme, which was contributed by one of our contest winners.  "Ichigo" is the Japanese word for strawberry, and the theme will be to honor the Japanese American strawberry farming history of Bainbridge Island.  (We have not settled on a name for the raspberry yet -- still time to make suggestions.)

Vineyard -- late season
The late Spring start to the season is hurting a lot right now...  We've harvested the Madeleine Angevine (the numbers and flavors are great!), but not the Muller Thurgau or the Melon de Bourgogne.  The weather has not turned mortal to the grapes yet, but it's really frustrating that we're so close, but not there yet!  Keep your fingers crossed for warmth and very little rain for another two weeks...

New outlet -- Pike & Western
We're pleased to announce that Perennial Vintners wines are now available at Pike & Western Wine Shop at the Pike Place Market!  Mike has stopped by this wine shop more than any other over the last few years, which tells you something about it!  It is an honor to be at this high profile and high quality venue.
